UNH researchers will advance research and workforce development in metal-forming technologies, used in transportation, defense, aerospace, household appliances and biomedical industries, as a partner in a new industry-university research center.
Brad Kinsey, associate dean for research and professor of mechanical engineering, will head UNH’s role in the new Center for Industrial Metal Forming (CIMF), led by The Ohio State University with additional partner Oakland University; assistant professor of mechanical engineering Jinjin Ha is a co-investigator on the project. The five-year effort is funded with a $1.25 million National Science Foundation grant to UNH, with some of the funds provided by industrial consortium members.
